- You need 2 Cups of Moth bean sprouts.
- Prepare 1/4 Tsp of turmeric powder.

Misal Pav step by step
- Put the moth sprouted beans, turmeric powder, salt, 1 cup water in a pressure cooker and take 1 whistle. Now moth is cooked properly. keep it aside..
- For Paste - Take oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic, onion and sauté well until the colour change. Now add dry coconut and sauté for 3 minutes. Now add chopped tomato, sauté slightly. Let it cool down. Now put this mixture into the blender, add 1/4 cup of water and blend it smoothly. Now masala paste is ready..
- Take oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumins seeds, curry leaves and sauté well. Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and sauté on low flame. Now add the paste (which we have already prepared) in this Masala and sauté well. Cook until the colour change and oil releases. Now add cooked moth beans in this masala. Add small piece of jaggery, 1/2 tsp of salt and mix it well..
- Now add 5 cups of water. Adjust consistency, cover it and boil it for 10 minutes. Now you can see that the oil is separates so misal is ready now to serve. Take misal only without gravy in a plate, put some Farsan, chopped onion, chopped coriander and now put some gravy on top it. Enjoy with the pav :).
Misal Pav is prepared with few variations in different places in Maharashtra like Puneri Misal, Kolhapuri Misal etc. Though I have not tasted all the versions but I would love to try them when I visit those. Misal pav is readily available in the market and we often prefer to eat it outside or order a parcel. This time I preferred to make it at home and my efforts were rewarded.
